Uber Acquires Food Delivery Startup, Postmates (2020.06)

Uber has agreed to acquire food delivery startup Postmates for $2.65B USD. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Uber Eats has been facing huge losses which it hopes to eventually make up through its acquisition of Postmates. The deal will allow Uber’s Global Eats Platform to work together with Postmate’s delivery business as the two companies have differentiated customer demographics and geographic focuses.
