Tokyo-Listed Company, Maruha Nichiro Acquires Vietnam-based Saigon Food (2021.01)

Maruha Nichiro, the largest global seafood company by sales, has acquired Ho Chi Minh City-based Sai Gon Food at an undisclosed amount. Sai Gon Food has established itself as one of Vietnam’s leading brands of porridge and hot pot in Vietnam with around 2,000 employees and four manufacturing sites. The acquisition is expected to provide Maruha Nichiro a new marine product processing facilities and access to the Vietnamese market.
