Centroid Investment Partners to Acquire TaylorMade Golf for $1.7B (2021.05)

Centroid Investment Partners LC, a South Korean private equity firm, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire TaylorMade Golf Company from KPS Partners at around 15x EV/EBITDA price multiple. Established in 1979, TaylorMade is one of top three global golf equipment manufacturers with 1st or 2nd market positions in several geographies within the golf equipment industry. The acquisition marks the largest takeover for golf equipment since Mirae Asset Global Investments and Fila Korea’s $1.3B acquisition in 2011 of Acushnet Holdings Corp, which owned Titleist, the world’s largest manufacturer of golf balls and equipment.
